More Friendlies

Ali 1 have agreed to play us on 14th July, venue to be confirmed. Boots Athletic had agreed to challenge us on 26th July however this is likely to now take place on Thursday 19th July 2007.

2007/2008 Pre-Season Friendlies

We currently have one friendly confirmed for Saturday 28th July vs FC Samba (venue Grove Farm, 2pm kick off) . They were challenging for honours at Xmas in NAA Division 1 but fell from the title race and probably feel there final league position was a disappointment when looking at their early season form.

This fixture will be a huge test for the 2007/2008 squad however at the current time this is the only fixture confirmed.

***PRE-SEASON TRAINING***

Although the 2006/2007 season has only just finished Pre-season Training for the 2007/2008 season is due to commence Saturday 23rd June 2007 at the Forest (Goose Fair site).

The first session will take place from 10.30am - 1pm.

A £1 contribution will be required per player to set up a small foundation for the 2007/2008 season.

2006/2007 Replay

Although finishing second from bottom, the end of season Turnaround was fantastic scoring 17 in 6 games since I became involved and picking up 10 points in 6 games. FULL CREDIT AND A MASSIVE THANKS TO ALL THE LADS INVOLVED IN THE RUN IN. It gives us a fantastic foundation for the 2007/2008 season.

Beacon 7-3 Trident

This game just about summed up Beacons performance this season, all out attack and leaving gaps at the back. Beacon could have added to their tally but had two penalties saved by the Trident keeper. It was an entertaining game with flowing end to end football. Trident should have taken the lead but hit the bar - shortly after good work from Tom Smith and Kevin Greaves put in Anthony White to fire into the net. On 21mins it was 2-0 as Alkman put in Linton White. Trident hit back quickly to reduce the arrears with a through ball for the striker to latch onto. A cutting pass from Wood to Alkman let in Anthony White to make it 3-1. trident wouldn’t lay down and once again quickly hit back to make it 3-2 – Beacon were awarded a penalty just before half time but Wilmots shot easily saved by the keeper.
Half Time 3-2
Beacon had another penalty but Anthony Whites strike was once again saved by the keeper. Alkman put in Linton White to make it 4-2 - credit to Trident as once again they hit back to make it 4-3. Linton White then completing his hat trick to make the game safe at 5-3 – in the closing minutes, Romaine Graham doing what he has been threatening to do all season, picking the ball up at the back and going on a solo run beating four Trident players before rounding the keeper to score. As Trident tried to press forward they left gaps at the back which were exploited in the closing minutes as Red Wilmot found himself in space to run on and make it 7 for Beacon.
A good attacking game by both sides where there could easily have been more goals for both teams.

EARLY BLITZ STUN THE ALBION !
TRIDENT 4-3 NETHERFIELD ALBION

Netherfield were hit by 3 goals in 12 mins by a well up for it Trident. The game started at a frantic pace and with the wind at their backs Trident punished the Albion for some sloppy defensive errors in the early stages. The Albion settled after 15 and were denied by 2 great saves and a couple of shots going wide. The game became even harder for the Albion when Nixon was sent of on the half hour mark for apparently abusing the Referee who happened to be the Trident manager as the allotted referee never shown. That decision was made a bit too quick as Nixon like many others were just annoyed at the Referees decisions and it could of ended the game as he was not controlling the game at all and tempers were mounting.
With ten men the Albion grew stronger and were pushing Trident all the way but on 50 a cross was not dealt with and was nodded in to make it 4 and you might of thought game over. But the Albion are quite resilient these days and fought back well forcing back Trident in to a defensive manner. When the Albion attacked they always looked like they might score and score they did. That man Nana Eneh doing the damage he hit another stunning hat trick to make it 4-3. Trident were now panicking every time the 10 men of Albion attacked. Netherfield nearly grabbed a very late equaliser but it wasn't to be. Netherfield if not for those early shock 3 goals and the dismissal of Nixon may well of won this game but credit to Trident for the way they attacked the Albion and defended so well.

TRIDENT 0 LIMEKILN 2

Limekiln secured three more points with a comfortable victory against struggling Trident at Highfields.
Kiln started well, trying to play football on what was a poor pitch. Steven Thornton did some excellent work on the left beating two players and getting himself into the box. He lifted his shot over the 'Keeper and it looked to be going in. Reilly Marshall made sure by blasting home on the line!
The Reds' backline had to work hard to maintain concentration because Trident rarely threatened Nick Lylak's goal. On the few occasions that the Home side did press forward they found a brick wall in the shape of Ray Walker and Men of the Match Danny Winwood and Chris Bell.
HT 0-1
The talk at Half Time was about continuing to get forward and more importantly to keep a clean sheet. Limekiln did both, albeit at a leisurely pace. Reds' Keeper Nick Lylak summed the game up commenting that it had a Pre-season Friendly atmosphere.
Carl martin had picked up a knock and was replaced by Hadleigh Marshall at Half Time.
Kiln continued to dominate the game for large parts and pressed forward but struggled to find that second goal. James Hallam had an effort that hit BOTH posts before being cleared and Kiln also hit the crossbar before Ray Walker anticipated a deep cross and fired home from six yards.
Whilst the game was over as a contest credit must go to Trident for their perseverance. They continued to battle and almost got a goal reward only to be thwarted by an excellently timed challenge from Chris Bell. Nick Lylak was only called upon to make one save and he didn't let anybody down, brilliantly diving to his right to push an effort round the post.
Carlton Cousins made his Limekiln debut following his transfer from Netherfield Albion replacing Steven Thornton on the left side of Midfield.

End of Season Awards

After a tough 2006/2007 campaign the Ukranian Federation on Claremont Street, Carrington, Nottingham held a glitzy awards bash for the Trident FC Players prior to the 2007 FA Cup Final.

The Player's Player vote was as follows:-
